How do I review graded papers efficiently?
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Ed.ai grades every paper and drafts the feedback, but you make the calls. Here’s how to review a full class set quickly without giving up control.
1. Start with the class view, not paper #1
Before you open individual papers, go to the assessment’s “Insights” tab:
-
“Results” shows the score distribution. If you grade with points, “View detailed results” shows each student’s score, question by question.
-
“Learning Analytics” shows how the class did on each standard. The menu set to “The entire assessment” filters by exercise, and the “Observations” button groups the mistakes found across the papers.
Two minutes here tells you where your attention is actually needed. To go further: Comment identifier rapidement les questions qui ont posé le plus de difficultés ?
2. Review exercise by exercise, not paper by paper
In the “Student papers” tab, open a paper with “View the graded paper”, then click “Review mode” in the “Start review mode” banner.
Choose “Walk through exercises”: you review the same exercise for every student in a row, and move from one student to the next with your keyboard. Grading the same exercise in a row keeps your judgment consistent and makes it faster to spot what you want to adjust.
Everything you go through in review mode is marked as reviewed: once you’ve gone through a whole paper, it shows “Paper reviewed”. Step by step: Comment utiliser la revue rapide ?
3. A question needs a change for the whole class? Adjust the grading scale before you review
If a question deserves more points, or a step deserves partial credit, change the grading scale instead of each paper: go to the “Assessment documents” tab, in the “Scoring details” section click “Modify scoring details”, then “Save changes”.
Scores aren’t recalculated automatically. A banner offers to “Regrade papers”: every paper is then graded again with the new grading scale.
⚠️ Regrading replaces the grading on every paper. Your manual changes (scores, feedback, review) are erased, and papers you already shared are hidden from students until you share them again. So adjust the grading scale before you start reviewing.
👉 Already reviewed your papers and only one question needs to change? Change its score directly on the papers concerned, without regrading: the exercise score and the total follow automatically. See Puis-je ajuster le barème après réception des copies corrigées ?
4. Edit feedback where it matters
Ed.ai’s comments pinpoint each student’s mistake. Skim them, and rewrite the ones going to students who need a specific tone: encouragement for a struggling student, a push for one who’s coasting.
In review mode, you edit each question’s score and feedback in the right-hand panel. On a paper, turn on “Edit the grading” at the top of the page, then click the block you want to change. You can modify or complete any part of the AI grading, and your changes are saved automatically. Details: Comment modifier ou compléter la précorrection proposée par Ed.ai ?
5. Spot-check before you release
Pick a few papers across the range (a strong one, a middle one, a struggling one) and read them end to end as a final quality check.
Then release the work: in the “Student papers” tab, click “Release graded papers”, for the whole class or for selected students only. See Puis-je rendre les copies à certains élèves seulement ?
