What is Ed.ai’s philosophy?

Last updated: October 15, 2026

Teachers face a hard equation: large, mixed-ability classes, growing pressure to individualize support, and a lack of tools that fit. Grading eats into evenings and weekends, and the follow-through (who needs what, and when) is where time runs out first. The result is a heavy workload and a real risk of burnout.

That is why Ed.ai was built: to lighten teachers’ workload by cutting down time-consuming tasks and making differentiation easier, while respecting their expertise and their professional freedom.

What we believe: free up time, refocus teachers on reteaching and individual support, and respect the way they practice their profession.

Ed.ai is not just a tool, but a partner built with and for teachers, to meet today’s teaching challenges.

At every step of the assessment, the teacher stays in charge:

  • They keep their agency: the ability to decide, to weigh options and to use their expertise.

  • The AI assists without ever imposing; it adapts to the way each teacher chooses to use it: grading, reteaching, or more in-depth conversations with the assistant Ed (“Talk to Ed”).

Two more principles hold everything together: feedback must be specific enough for students to act on, and student data is never used to train our models (see Quelles sont les données utilisées par Ed.ai pour améliorer ses modèles d’IA ?).

We offer a smart assistant, not a black box: a teaching assistant fully under the teacher’s control, in service of their expertise as a grader.

Technology that serves human expertise, not the other way around.
