How do I talk to parents about Ed.ai?

💡 Practical tips for talking to families about Ed.ai
✅ Let families know early: at the start of the year, we recommend sending parents and guardians a short, clear and friendly note explaining that you use Ed.ai in your teaching.
A good note to families does three things:
-
Explains what Ed.ai is and what you use it for, in plain language: grading assessments and creating targeted practice.
-
Reassures families about how it is supervised and how their child's data is protected: you review and decide every score and comment, and student work is never used to train AI models.
-
Involves families, so they can support their child with what they are working on.
✅ Make time for questions: give families a point of contact (you, or the right person at your school), or take a few minutes at back-to-school night to show what feedback on Ed.ai looks like.
✅ Point them to our resources: families who want details on data protection can read the Ed.ai Data Privacy Hub, which covers FERPA and COPPA.
