Do you share usage data with third parties?

No. Ed.ai never directly shares personal or sensitive data with third parties.
When we process a paper, we first create a digital twin of the handwritten paper with our own optical character recognition model (OCR developed in-house, hosted on our Microsoft Azure servers).
At this step, we detect the sensitive information (the student’s first and last name, class and handwriting) and mask it: this is de-identification. What we keep is only the student’s raw work.
Only this de-identified digital twin can then be sent to commercial AI models, to prepare the grading. Our contracts provide that these providers don’t keep the data and don’t use it to train their models.
Usage data is never sold or used for advertising.
